What do I need to know about attending my first Coffeehouse performance?

If you have never been to a coffeehouse, the following is a brief description of what to expect:

New England coffeehouses tend to be very informal.  Dress is casual.

The audience consists of people of all age groups.
A typical audience looks like an audience that you might see in a movie theater.

Attending a coffeehouse is much like going to see a movie or a play except that the performance is live music, usually in a small, intimate setting where the performer(s) can more easily connect and interact with the audience.
